- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)times were not as nice as they are now and the were cheaper now. and not as nice. Some of the shoes were made of sheeps' skins and the skins of wild animals. They clipped the wool of the skin and made their shoes.There are shoes made locally. and others are made in boot factories in large cities.
When we are approaching the shoe makers house we hear the tip-tap of the hammer and we see machines and pieces of leather hanging in the window. He sits on a long stool and all his implements scattered about him. The shoe maker makes boots as well as mending them.
