Over a hundred years ago a boat was lost in Lough Swilly. It was called the Sharagore boat. There were two brothers, Pat and Peter McLaughlin and two cousins, John and Peter Mc L drowned. They were out gathering seaweed in the month of June when a sudden gust of wind and a heavy shower of hail-stones began and sank the boat. The people of Glackrow were watching the boat but when the shower began they lost sight of it. A few days later the boat came back into the same bay as it left - All hands were drowned.
