- The name of the townland in which I live is Sappagh. The Irish name is Sappóg meaning, "The little Wisp". There are about twenty one families in it, and the population is about, one hundred and six. The family name most common is Thompson. The most of the houses are built of stone and have slated roofs. There are about ten people over seventy living in it, none of them can speak Irish. There were more houses in it long ago than there are now. There are about two houses in ruins. The surface of the townland is flat, and a lot of it is boggy but it can grow good crops.
