Some people had as a cure for warts cutting a potato into ten shares and putting the blood of the wart on them. Nine of the shares were to be buried and the tenth thrown away.
As a cure for the whooping cough in former times the person who had it, had to cross over and under a donkey three times and then give the donkey a piece of bread to eat out of their hand. In olden times if any one had the mumps, they were led with the horse's branks on their head to drink at a running stream of water.
The seventh son or daughter of any family can cure evil from they are seven years of age and if they cure any one before that age they loose the gift and can cure no more. - In olden times the people had several cures for the toothache. Some of the cures were to kiss a frog. To kill a hurchin and take a tooth out of it and rub the tooth to the sore tooth.
