Local Happenings
Skerries, Co. Dublin.A big boat, about sixty-five years ago, came into the bay of Skerries with a cargo of wheat. There was a storm blowing when it anchored off Balbriggan. That same night it dragged its anchor and went up on the rocks. The name of the rocks is the Carrab[?] Rocks, off Balbriggan. The crew sent out signals for a life-boat and immediately the signals were sent out the coast-guard saw them. Just then he went for the life-boat. There were six men in the lifeboat when she left Skerries harbour.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
