- About five years ago, there was a great snow storm in Ireland. There were a lot of stock lost in the storm, and people were lost also. This storm lasted for two days, and in every part of Ireland cars were stopped on the road. The snow was drifted by the wind and in some places it was ten feet deep. There was only one man I knew in the parish of Aughrim, that was lost in this snow and his name was Mick Grehan. This man was going home from the village of Aughrim. It seem that when he was about a quarter of a mile from the village, he got tired walking through the snow. He lay down on the side of the road, and died from exposure.(Anthony Meheran, Liscaple)
