- In 1903 there was a great storm in Spring time on February the second. I swept the roofs of houses thatched and slated and corrugated iron roofs also and knocked thousands of trees.
That winter there was no turf and thy used the timer that fell for fire wood.
Stock were killed also by fallen trees.
Marble Hill wood was all knocked and there were few trees left standing.
There were several boats and people lost on sea by destruction of that storm. there was also people killed on land by fallen trees.
There was also another terrible storm in 1839 it was a lot worse that the on I'm describing now and did more destruction also.
