- Severe weather
I remember the severe thunderstorm on the 11th of August 1931. There was a great rainstorm. It flooded the lands. A cock of hay was burned by lightning. Not many heavy snowfalls occur now. A year ago the snow was about about one foot on the ground. The poeple suffer from the cold and they are perished. The animals lie in the sheltered places and they are put in the shed sometimes. The birds look for a stray morsel of food or berries that many have fallen down in hedges. Sometimes they come to the door step for crumbs. On mountains sheep are lost when the snow falls in drifts for when they get into a drift they can not get out.
