a cat and an eel guarding this crock of gold. In this lake there is no inlet but an outlet and it is very hard to understand where the water is coming from as the lake is on the top of a high hill. This is a very [deep] lake being the same depth in summer as in winter.
There was one man named William Ross who was brave enough to swim in it and dive to the bottom to try to find the crock of gold. He bottomed the lake all around except one corner which seemed very dangerous. After this no one tried to take out the gold for each attempt ended in failure. It is lying there still waiting for the man who has courage enough and intelligence to unearth this wonderful treasure from its hiding place in the mysterious lake of Benbo.
