“There was a fort between Tullamore and Coolkeragh.”
There was a fort between Tullamore and Coolkeragh. This fort was haunted long ago. The old people would not go near the fort after it getting dark. On one occasion one night about twelve o'clock some man saw men and they riding horses and they had hounds and they were hunting a fox. When the man went home he went to bed he got sick and he did not get up for a week and he was very bad.
Another day a woman came from the fort and went to the next house and asked the loan of a pot from the woman of the house and she took it back again in the evening. She did not know the woman and she looked where did she go. She went to the fort. The woman did not see her before or after.
