Co. Leitrim - A Protestant farmer had hay down in rainy weather. Saturday came a good day and he was rushing to get it all up. But they were not able to finish it and one of his helpers said, that he would come back on Sunday to help him put it up. The farmer said, "Oh no, no, Our Lord when he was making the world, rested on Sunday. Oh!" "I know" said Pat, "but he had all done Saturday night". A Fairy Story (Local)One time there was a fine crop of potatoes growing near Laheen fort. Six men started to dig them one day. At dinner time, they went over to the ditch to eat their dinner. While they were eating it, six women came out of the fort wearing cloaks and hoods. They went to the potatoes and picked them into their aprons.
