- The name of the townland I live in is Bromore. It is situated in the parish of Ballybunion, in the barony of Irraghti-Connor, Co. Kerry. There are twenty-two families living in this townland, and one hundred-and-twenty-seven people. The most common name in this townland is Flahive.
There are more slated houses in Bromore than thatched. The word Bromore means the big flag, because long ago people washed clothes on a big flag on the bank of the river. There are fifteen people over seventy years living in Bromore.
