    the feet should be thrown out. The custom that is connected with it is that it should not be used for any other purpose.
    Boots are repaired locally but not made. There are three shoemakers in Ballybunion - two brothers named Beasley, and another named Mossie Connor. It is a tradition in the Beasley family for the past seventy years, their father and grand-father being shoemakers. In former times there were a great many shoemakers but now it is nearly all machine shoes. Clogs were worn but not made locally. Clogs were very plentiful about forty years ago, and a few people wear them at the present day.
