The famine came because the crops did not grow and the people had nothing to eat and they died of hunger. They had to eat grass like the nettles and capógs and boochoolauns. Sometimes they used get meal and make stirabout. They used to eat it and when they would have it eaten they would fall on their backs just like young gaisleans.
