- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Sligo road and the Colliery. It is called the Rock road because it passes by a large rock. The Lough Bo road joins the Sligo road and passes along the shore of Lough Bo lake till it reaches another road which runs into Boyle town. The Mill road joins the Sligo road and the Riverstown road. It is called the Mill road because of the numbers of people who long ago went up to the Riverstown Mill on it. The Green road joins the Sligo road and Bloomfield school. It got its name from a green patch of grass which grows in the centre of it. St Patrick came up that road in his first visit to this parish and went up the Lough Bo road as far as Lough Bo. When he got there he was thirsty and entering a house he asked a drink of even water, but he was refused. He entered the next house where an old woman was spinning and asked a drink. The old woman said “I have nothing but a drop of goat’s milk and if you care for it you can have it and welcome,” St Patrick took it and going out on the door he said “may God increase your store and from that out she could(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
