    on till they came to a forge. The smith was working very hard. The Blessed Virgin asked him for a pin, but he said he had got no one. She said she would be going then, and they were about to leave, when the smith took from his pocket, a piece of money. Out of it, he made a beautiful brooch, which he gave to the Blessed Virgin. She gave him her blessing, and she went away. It is said, that from that day, smiths have special powers.
