    high drift of snow and was smothered. The other man was Sam Smyth. He walked into a deep drift of snow and was smothered. He wasn't got until the snow melted. Four sheep belonging to Michael McMahon were sleeping behind a hedge. When the owner went out next morning to see them he found them smothered under snow. The snow melted a week afterwards and the roads were not dry for a fortnight.
