- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)like rain, said to himself that it would be better to put some thatch on the top of the stacks. When he had finished the first one he heard lovely music and merriment coming from the fort, and a voice saying "Hi!, Hi! Go home poor Paddy. We wish you a good night's rest, and go to your bed. You must feel very tired to-night. We will have your stacks thatched and roped in the morning."
Looking up he saw men standing on the outer ring of the fort, smoking two very small clay pipes. The old man did not get excited as he often saw those before, but at these words he lifted his rake and fork and went home saying "If I get my stacks thatched and roped to-night, James and I would be all night."
The next morning he was up at sunrise and it being a very wet morning he did not take time even to say his prayers but ran out to see about his stacks of corn. Sure enough his eight stacks were well thatched and roped. He ran as quick as his two feet could(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
