  1. Food in Olden Times
In olden times people ate five meals a day, the meals were "breakfast", "piece", "dinner", "evening tea" and "supper". Long ago people would rise at half eight o'clock and would go out to the field to work to nine o'clock. Then they would get their breakfast.
The breakfast consisted of porridge, potatoes, and butter-milk. Piece was oaten bread and fresh milk. Dinner was potatoes and butter milk. Evening tea was oaten bread and buttermilk. Supper was potatoes and buttermilk. The potatoes were eaten at breakfast, dinner, and supper. Buttermilk was used nearly at every meal.
The people would sit round a little table which was attached to the wall. When the table was not in use it was hung up against the wall.
Oaten Bread was used for some meals.
It was the custom in olden times to eat meat only at Christmas. It was salted. In olden times people would take their supper and then to to bed
