   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)

   and is the most southerly townland in Co. Kilkenny. The place has traditional associations with the Fíanna Éireann who are supposed to have encamped there in a field which is still called Cruach na bhFíann.

   Licketstown (Baile an Licheada) adjoins Moonveen and Glengrant and apparently gets its name from some person named Licket of whom nothing can be traced. There is no such name in the locality now. The place is often mispronounced Lickerastown by many local inhabitants.

   Mountneill is called in Irish Baile Salach. The reason for the anglicised form is not clear as there is no 'mount' or O'Neill' in the townland. Now, at any rate, the place does not deserve the slur which the Irish version casts upon it.

   Curraghmartin (Currach Mháirtín) is a flat and low-lying district and hence is commonly called Curragh! It is not known to whom the Martin portion of the name refers. The adjoining townland of Aglish was also once known as Aglishmartin.

   Ballincur (Baile an Churraig) also gets its name from its wet low-lying situation.
