Gale was the Landlord and he told Doran to go to Dublin and take a letter with him and get an answer, or if not, Doran and parents would be evicted. Doran took off his boots and stockings and ran to Dublin, and was back in time to kick the balls. When Gale saw him he was inclined to be incredulous and Doran gave the answer. Mr. Gale told his servant to bring a firkin of butter and he put Doran down in it because he had lost all his sweat running. He soaked the whole firkin of butter and kicked the ball afterwards.
- Once a family lived at the Corstown side of Curragh hill. One night when the father of the family was talking about getting new boots for his children he bagan to take mearure. They had a black cat and he was sitting on the hob and he said to the man "What about my boots for the winter?" The man said to the cat "I will(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
