    that he (did) had knotted as a mark. He could not find the pan of gold. When the people were at the Lough something in the shape of a serpemnt came up out of the water and touched the blackheads with its tail and all the blackheads loosed and when the man went to look again for the gold he found it in the same place and these words were on it:—"Any thing you know belonging to the fairies do not interfere with it." This is a true story I heard.
