village of Meelik, there was one woman named Clarke who made crocks. She procured a certain kind of clay in Jenning's field in the same village, which she mixed with milk. She dug a hole in the ground the shape of a crock. She plastered the clay round on the inside of the hole and allowed it to set. she then glazed it, which gave it a smooth surface. I inquired from the local people but found no information as to whether the clay is still to be found.
