- In olden times the people of this locality had various ways of making bread. The chief kinds of bread used were oaten meal bread, boxty bread, potato cake and Indian meal bread.
Almost every farmer in this locality grew great quantities of oats. The oats were brought to a mill in the townland of Carrowbehy belonging to James MacNulty to be ground into oaten meal by means of a machine. There was another mill in the townland of Cloonmullin, where the local people brought their oats to be ground into oaten meal. This is how the townland got it's name "Clain Mullin" which means(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
