The oaten meal bread was made entirely of oaten meal mixed with water, and a little sugar to sweeten it. Then it was baked on a grid-iron. The poorer people in this locality made Indian meal bread. This bread was made of Indian meal mixed with a little flour and water. It was then baked between two leaves of cabbage. Those Indian meal cakes were called "poncógs" or "pancóga" by the people of this locality.
Another kind of bread which was used regularly in this locality was boxty bread. First of all the raw potatoes were scraped with a piece of tin bored with holes. Those(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
