    my mother," said the prince. "Will you get your daughter's cloth and I will carry her home." Perhaps my mother will make her, her daughter-in-law in a week."
    Well, the girl went away with the prince. The prince's mother was very surprised when she heard all that the girl could do.
    When the night came the old Queen pointed to a heap of flax, and said, "You may begin, as soon as you like, to-morrow morning, and I will expect to see these three pounds of flax woven into nice thread the morning after."
    Little did the poor girl sleep that night. When the next morning came she began to spin the flax, and though she had a nice mahogany wheel and the finest flax you ever saw the thread was breaking every moment.
    At last she pushed her chair back and burst out crying.
