- Castlelyons is mentioned in many songs that were written about the River Bride. The land of most of the parish is very good. There at two big bogs Ballyoran Bog and Monone bog There is a big lot of mountain in the north part of the parish. It is called Desmond's mountain & Sweeney's mountain & Dooleys mountain. It is mostly between Barrafohona and Ballyogaha.

Woods. The Oak Wood in Ardra, about 5 acres.
