- Conan Maol had a son who used to wear a green belt. He was called the lad with the green belt. Whatever side he would play with they were sure to win. He was champion of Ireland. He did not know who his father was until one day there was a big dinner given in honour of hurling by Conan Maol. During the dinner he challenged the boys would any of them break a shin-bone of a cow. The boy with the green belt stood up and broke the shin-bone. 'Well done' said Conan 'no one ever did that but a son of mine". Not til then did he know his father.
- There is a stone in Callaghan's farm, Castlelyons, Co. Cork which was thrown by Finn Mac Cool. The prints of his fingers are in the stone. There is another in Kent's of Ballyhampshire, Castlelyons, Co. Cork.
