- I this district there are several wild herbs and plants, such as the dockleaf, switch grass, fairy-finger dandelion etc.
Switch grass was used long ago when soldiers got wounded. Soldiers applied the sap of the switch grass to the wound and it healed it.
The dandelion is given to geese and hens as food. At the time of the famine people ate nettles and other herbs because they had no cabbage or potatoes to eat.
