- In Quills land there are three forts quite close to each other. They are in the townland of dún na Cinc. An underground passage is going south west to Tulaig where there are more.
- There is another big fort in the land of Bill Quill. It is near the old road which ran from Banna to Rempleglantine.
- There is a place in the parish of Athea called dromadda. Lights used to be often seen (there) there is another place there called the páircín garbh and barrels used to be seen rolling down there.
- I bínn na n-úin near the river Gale my mother used to hear the fiddle playing in the middle of the day. She used also to hear talk there. It was always an airy place.
