- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)When cattle leave the high ground and make for the lower pastures a break in the weather may be expected.
Even insects were observed as signs of change of weather.
After a long spell of fine weather, lots of insects flying around or crawling on the ground is a sure sign of a break.
Local hills are observed.
Here they pay special attention to Knockfierna and a little hill near Kilmeedy. When Knock-fierna has a cap on it is a bad sign. The same is said about the western hill.
A south or south west wind in the district is the wet wind. A north west wind also brings broken weather.- Faisnéiseoir
