- (continued from previous page)Ballysteen in an ass and car about twelve oclock. There was one man named Sheehan who had great courage, the other man was Sullivan. As they were passing the abbey they saw a man coming "By God" said Sheehan "I will not be afraid of him" They stopped the ass and the man came around to Sheehan's side. "What do you want" said Sheehan. Then the man said "Will you do a turn for me" "Why not" said Sheehan. Then the man said again "When I died my name was never published off the altar by the priest, if you do that I have no trouble only go to heaven" Sheehan went to the priest and told him. They never saw the man after. The dates on some of the crosses are:- 1884; 1892; 1898; 1900; 1905.
