    were used. The people were stronger and healthier than the people of the present day. The old people used not drink any tea because they said it was bad for the teeth. Some people used to eat eggs and herrings because they were very cheap. Some farmers used bacon for their dinner on special occasions. Wheaten-meal used to be used by comfortable people though often most of it had to be sold to pay the rent. Some people used to eat práipin instead of stirabout. Hanging tables were used in olden times. Some of these are still in this district.
