- In the town land of Carrigeen Cahir near a fort there is a small stream in the middle of which is a small stone in the shape of a chair it is about 1½ feet long, it is called "the kings seat" and is supposed to be washed down from the fort. About a mile outside Cahir on the Mitchelstown road is a thorn bush surrounded by stones in the shape of a tub, it is called "the mile tree."
