    a football .Sometimes the big boys hunt the wren and with the money they gather,they give a dance called a "Wren Ball".This is usually held in one of the local houses.
    There are not many customs in this parish connected with St Brigid's Day.On St Brigid's Eve every householder makes a little cross of wood or rushes and nails it to the roof of the house.By doing this people believe St Brigid will protect them from sickness during the coming year.
    On St.Patrick's Day every Irish person wears a spray of shamrock in honour of St.Patrick who taught them the true Faith .Some years ago men generally went on a great Spree on St.Patrick's Day.They called it "Drowning the Shamrock"
    Shrove tide exists from the 6th of January to Ash Wednesday it is at that of the year most people get married. Shrove Tuesday Night is called "Pancake Night"as it is the practice of most people to make
