- The name of my home district is Killencoole my parish is Darver, and my Barony is Dundalk.
The number of families in this town-land is about fourteen.
The family most common is Mc Donnell.
The types of houses are both thatched and slater.
I do not know how the town-land got its name
There are no old people living there.
They do not know Irish.
They can tell English stories.
There were many more houses in the district, in former years.
There are some of the houses in ruins.
People did imigrate from the district and went to America and else where.
The land is not hilly [?] boggy but it is very good for crops.
There is a wood in the district and the name of it is Corderry.
There is a stream in it and there is a saying about it.
The saying is, one upon a time Saint Patrick washed his stockings and he left them to dry and they were stolen.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
