Some people make crosses out of straw and rushes.
The crosses are made in the schools by the children and some of the old people can make them.
Some people put them in the out houses and more people hang them over the kitchen door.
St.Patrick's Cross was a little round one made out of all colours of ribbons. The children used to wear them on their shoulders.
On May Eve people throw yellow May flowers on their houses and some get a bush put in front of the house and throw May flowers on it.
Some of the people hang the Palm over their beds, some hang it on pictures.
When going to bed at night people shake holy water on the bed and some shake it on the floor.
When there is a thunder storm some people put a looking glass under the table and some put it face downwards on the table it is on. No one site near the fire when a thunder storm is on because they think the fire is more likely to draw the lightning.
