- Churns existed from early ages they are one of the many things that can not be done without.
The churn we have at home is a barrel churn.
It rests on a stand it is two feet high. It is wide in the middle and getting narrow at both ends. The ends are equal and are about eighteen inches in diametre.
It is a round churn. It is twenty years old, the hoops keep the wood together the lid goes on with the clasps.
There is a glass on the lid to show when the butter is on the churn. There is also an air tube on the lid for letting out the steam.- Bailitheoir
