- There is a small fairy fort near my home situated in a field on the Trim road not far from Pikecorner cross roads. It is a rath. There are a few bushes growing round it. There are two raths situated in the townland of Scurlogstown in the land now occupied by Patrick Farrell. There are trees growing round the large rath and bushes growing round the small one. The two of them are the same shape. No one ever cuts tree on it. It is said that a man cut a tree on the rath and that he got a stroke afterwards.
It is said that a chieftain who fought at the battle of Tara was buried there afterwards.(continues on next page)- Collector
