    This has been a tradition in the Kearney family for three generations.
    Clogs were nearly always worn in the neighbourhood long - ago but they were not made locally there are some people in this district who wear "clogs" yet namely Thomas Newman John Gannon and Mat Leech of Tullaghanstown also Harry Callaghan of Ongenstown.
    Long ago in this neighbourhood when people killed a calf they skinned it an made shoes out of its skin.
