    Gold Found Near Galtrim Church
Once upon a time there lived in Galtrim two brothers named Kelly. They lived alone in a little thatched cabin, about two - hundred yards from the Protestant Church.
One night when they were about to go to bed, a feeble knock came to the door. One of the old men, named John, opened the door, and outside he saw a little old woman, whose face was wrinkled with age.
She begged for a night’s lodging but John was not anxious to let her stay. James came out and asked what she wanted. John related what the old woman had said to him.
James, who was not as hard - hearted as his brother, took pity on her and told her she might stay.
She came in and sat down by the fire, and James began to question her as to where she came from.
She told them she had come from County Galway. Then she told them of a dream she had one night, about a box of gold which was hidden under a sod outside the gates of Galtrim
