   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   There was a great poet whose name was Mr Mc Quillan better known as "Seán the Rambler". He lived at Churchtown, Co. Louth. He is alive yet and is living at Dundalk. He composed many great poems. One of those was:

   "The Chap at Cuasack's Wall."
   "The trees o'er Ruxton's ruined Demensne.
   Cast out their shadows tall,
   When I scratched a slight acquaintance
   With the chap at Cuasack's Wall."

   Another great poet also from Co. Louth, was Seán Mc Guire, and he is dead. Those two men made poems about the year 1914. They took great delight in sending those verses to the Press. One of the latter's many poems was:-

   "The Postman's Gentle Knock"
   "I watch each Monday morning
   For the postman's Gentle Knock,
   For that's the day he brings me
   The paper from Dundalk.
   It cheers my wearied exiled heart,
   The Democrat to see,
   For my address in former days
   Was Riverstown Ardee."
