Harrows are made with a lot of iron bars, four of which are joined together to form a square and then other bars are placed parallel to these bars and others are placed diagonally and they are all bolted together and spikes are put underneath this frame-work.
None of the blacksmith's work is in the open air with the exception of the shoeing of wheels.
The water that the blacksmith uses to cool the iron in is supposed to cure warts.
The blacksmiths had no special privileges at any time.
People did not send them gifts.
The smiths had no power to banish rats.
The blacksmiths were always looked upon as being very strong. There are no stories connected with the local forges.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
