Sometimes after the Church Ceremony the bridal party retire to the home of the bride's parents for breakfast and there is feasting and dancing during the day and night. "Straw Boys" dressed in all sorts of fantastic attire and wearing masks call at the house during the night and dance to the accompaniment of their own music. The parties of "Straw Boys" usually well conduct sometimes refuse refreshments.
In olden days when horse-back was the common mode of conveyance men sometimes carried their wives or lady friends behind them on the saddle.- Collector
