    to take with you the leather to make them. There were different kinds of boots made in those days. There was a rough class of leather known as kip leather. This used to be made up in the strong nailed boots. These were known as brogues. There was another high class boot which the monied people used to buy. These boots before being made were called boight tops. This leather had a very shiny appearance and looked very grand when made up by the shoemaker.
