    dock are used as a food for pigs. The nettles are used for young turkeys and ducks, and the people often use then in Spring boiled with cabbage. It is said that they purify the blood.
    "Hail -All" is an herb that grows amongst the white - thorn bushes like a small fern. The old people say that there is a cure in it for sores of every kind. The root of it is boiled in unsalted or lard and made into an ointment.
    "Slanlus"is an herb that grows in meadows. It has a large green leaf, which is used for curing cuts. There is an herb called "comfry" which grows in gardens. It has a soft leaf about the size of a dock-leaf. There also comes a little red flower on it. The leaf is sued as a cure for a swollen leg, arm or a swollen face.
