People began to wear boots at the age of fifteen and sixteen. There is no account of people who never wore boots or shoes.
Some of the children go barefooted in summer and others wear bots all the year round. (Thear) There are no customs or beliefs connected with it. Boots are not made locally but are always repaired. There is only one shoemaker in our district. It has not been a tradition in their families. Clogs were often worn, and they are worn still. Clogs are not made locally. There are made in far off countries. There was never any leather made in this district. This shoemaker only can sole and patch and stitch.
In the olden times they made boots for men and for children. They would buy te leather and sole the boots with it and make fongs(continues on next page)- Collector
