- There lived in the Point about fifty years ago two men and one of their names was Darby Pender. These two men lived in the same house and one night in the bed these two men dreamt about a lot of gold hidden in the corner of a hill field below a sgeac under Breen's of the Point.
Next night about 12 'oclock the two men set out with a lamp and shovels and picks and began digging. When they were about three feet down there were about 20 men coming home along the Point Lane and they saw the men digging and thought they were trying some plan to frighten them. They got the axle of a car and put two wheels on it, got a load of withered bushes, tied them to the axle and set them afire. They gave it a shove and it went down the field like big blaze. The two men put on their coats and left their shovels, lamps and picks there and ran home their best. They never attempted to go to dig any more after nightfall.
