For a dog I whistle or call him by his name.Some people sprinkle holy water when setting hatching eggs, it is customary to put thirteen eggs under the hen. The odd one is supposed to be lucky. Eggs will not be set on Saturday because they say "Saturday's setting makes a short sitting."
