“There were a few shops in Bahana about a century ago.”
There were a few shops in Bahana about a century ago. I often heard my father talk about them. They sold all sorts of things such as tea, sugar, bread, matches, and clay pipes They would sell even on Sunday between the masses trying to make a living. The way the people bought theese things was in small quantities. The was a certain old woman who lived in Bahana, and her name was Molly Nolan. She had her little shop at the back of John Doyle's. She continued selling till her death and that was the year of eighteen hundred and seventy five. It was the last one was in it- Bailitheoir
